Guru Purnima Celebration: Impermanence
We come, we play, we pass away. Impermanence is ever upon us, filling our senses with grief and dread as well as a profound appreciation for the inherent beauty of our ever-changing world. Remembering impermanence has long been a recommended spiritual practice in both Hindu and Buddhist schools of thought. The Buddha is quoted as saying:
“To remember for an instant the impermanence of all compounded things is greater than giving food and offerings to a hundred of my disciples who are perfect vessels.”
Impermanence when fully accepted and embraced enlivens our sense of presence in the moment with appreciation and even wonder. Join us this Guru Purnima to meditate, sing, feast and consider the implications of impermanence for ourselves, our community and the world itself – the world that the Indian tradition wisely calls “Jagat” – meaning constant change.
Your Life as Story: The Transformational Path of Writing (Online)
Your Life as Story: The Transformational Path of Writing with Mary Angelon Young & Regina Sara Ryan. An Online Writing Intensive, Friday-Sunday, August 21-23, 2026
Essentials of Self (EoS)
Essentials of Self is a four-day immersive experience for reconnecting with your presence, clarity, and inner authority.
In this experiential retreat, you step away from the noise and pressures of daily life and explore a deeper question: Who am I when I am fully myself?
And beyond the experience of my whole self, how do I live from this place? How do I find my way back, when I forget or get disconnected?
The experience combines embodiment practices, "parts work," creative processes and shared exploration in a respectful and supportive environment.
Western Baul Artist Residency
The Western Baul Artist Residency brings together a vibrant cohort of artists. Residents will enjoy solitude and independent work time as well as communal meals and evening in-process sharing and conversations. Apply now. Space is limited.
Refuge in Troubled Times: An Online Gathering
June 13 and 14 | 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM (Arizona/Pacific time) - Join us for two days of exploration and worldwide connection. As we turn toward whatever life may bring to us, we hear the calling of a greater work in the resounding questions of today’s world: “What is the heart of refuge?” and “How can I make a difference? What can I do to serve?” Now, perhaps more than ever, we recognize the need to walk the spiritual path in companionship with others who are dedicated to prayer, praise, and service on behalf of All.
All Fools’ Celebration
Mirror of the Sky
Resting in the Highest View
April Fools’ Celebration
April 4-5, 2026
The closer you are to God, the higher the interpretation you give to any happening in life.
— Yogi Ramsuratkumar
Every day we are assaulted by an endless stream of inner conflicts, as well as the unimaginable suffering of the world around us. Our hearts are broken again and again. And yet somehow, the Dharma says that it is all lila, all part of the cosmic play, all just as it is. If we do not return to the highest vision, the clear vast-sky knowing that all is Father, Just This, the radiance of Pure Awareness, then we will always be reaction machines to events both inner and outer. When we cannot see that pure vision then we can strive to have faith in it – that it is so. Faith in the Guru is faith in this very vision, of non-separation, of “Father is doing all.” In this vision, even the suffering, the heartbreak is just as it is. This is also the foundation of “being that which nothing can take root in” – which is both context and practice. Without remembering all is Father – every thought, emotion, reaction, world event – will take root in us, reinforcing the illusion of separation. This does not mean we are not deeply feeling the pain of duality, the suffering of those around us and the world at large. In the midst of confusion, chaos, fear, anger – our awareness can simultaneously take rest and refuge in the highest view. This is not only our practice but our seva – to the path and to the world.
This Beggar’s name
is in the sky.
This Beggar’s name
can be heard in the sky.
When anyone even
remembers this Beggar,
Father sends help.
— Yogi Ramsuratkumar
Gaze to your heart’s content at the lofty mountains or on the wide ocean, and your words will be frank and free. If you cannot do anything else, at least peer at the open sky whenever you have the chance.
Little by little the rigid knots that make up your shackles will be loosened, and you will find yourself becoming free. A fully awakened consciousness functions only through an untrammelled mind and body.
— Anandamayi Ma

Jayanthi
November 18, 2025 – Jayanthi evening
“Seek beauty and avoid suffering”
The instructions of the guru are to be contemplated and remembered again and again, over and over, ten thousand times. They come in many forms but are always the same: the call to Remembrance, to surrender, to practice, or as Lee refers to it here as “seek beauty and avoid suffering.”
What is beauty? That every aspect of life is the face of the Beloved, the perfection of Just This, the recognition that “Father is doing all” as Yogi Ramsuratkumar stated. What is to be avoided? Unnecessary suffering – the swamp of mind’s belief in itself, in its thoughts and emotions, schemes and strategies.
Join us this celebration in cherishing the guru, the Divine as Beauty – in art, in music, in poetry, in food, in the intimacy of the sangha.

Dawn & Dusk: An Online Writing Intensive
Dawn & Dusk: An Online Writing Intensive
October 24, 25 & 26, 2025
Dawn and dusk are the rhythms of our human lives, connecting earth and sky, planet and cosmos. The beauty and symbolic power of these liminal times fill us with wonder and awe, inspiring poets and mystics across the ages to greet “the in between” as the most powerful time to contemplate, pray, and write. Embracing this potent metaphor—the promise of dawn even in the dusk of day’s end—offers a rich and urgent portal for our writing.
What is dawning in my life … and what holds back the dawn?
What hovers at the threshold of dusk ... and what resists the growing dark?
With the companionship of writing coaches Mary Angelon Young and Regina Sara Ryan, join a community of fellow travelers on Zoom to explore the current moment of our lives.
Friday 10 am - 12 pm Arizona time
Saturday 7 am – 2 pm
Sunday 7 am – 1 pm
From dawn to dusk I sit before my door....
There comes the morning with the golden basket in her hand,
bearing the wreath of beauty to silently crown the earth.
And there comes the evening, over the lonely meadows,
through the trackless paths...
From Gitanjali, “Thou Art the Sky”

Writing Retreat: Between Ground and Grace
Tea by a fire in the wood stove, walks in the high desert, deep sanctuary in the beauty and presence of Triveni. Time for writing, time for silence, time for sharing… These are healing salves for inner renewal, gathering and opening to resilience, inspiration, imagination.
Our theme for this writing retreat is “Between Ground and Grace” because the Ground is everything—our daily lives, the challenges, limitations, and heartbreaks we face, the uncertainty, our loss and grief, the fear of coming times...as well as how we can align ourselves to the basic sanity that opens the doors to Grace.
NO WRITING EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY TO PARTICIPATE
And, if you are working (or stalling) on a writing project, this will be a perfect time to engage or re-engage it.
